Help us fight for an independent parent voice

If you have a child in public school, you know how important it is to have a voice in how that school is run. You want to be confident that the parent representatives you vote for are working for you, and have the independence they need to be listened to. And when politics start getting in the way of you having your say, that's when it is time to fight back

On February 24, 2016 the Council of Commissioners of the English Montreal School Board made a dramatic change to parent governance, overturning democratic parent elections and illegally altering the structure of the Central Parents' Committee (CPC). That committee now can no longer operate effectively. Parents no longer have the voice they voted for.

This is just the latest from school board politicians who refuse to listen to parents.

Elsewhere, our Commissioners are looking to sell crucial land without parent consent, like what's currently happening at Sinclair Laird School. They're ignoring calls from parents at FACE school to continue busing students at the elementary level. And there are many more issues in each of our schools that Commissioners want you to forget. Parents for a Democratic EMSB are now taking action to stop to make sure parents are heard.
